For our friend

We are embarking on an adventure that is long overdue. A visit to France, Normandy specifically, will be our destination this trip. A close friend and neighbor who grew up in the land of Normans always wanted us to see her home. She was very proud of her Viking and family heritage and always encouraged us to go with her to visit this historical land. Many a night we enjoyed food, wine, and stories of her years growing up in Normandy. Unfortunately, it always seemed that when it was time to book a trip... we dragged our feet or had planned another trip. Hence, we missed the opportunity to experience Normandy with our friend.

She left us on New Year’s Day 2020 and our hearts were heavy for her husband and family. She was always so full life! Our Bénèdicte slipped away from us way too soon. Over the years on their visits to Virginia, we were able to meet her French family. Now we finally take our trip to visit Normandy with the hope that the stories once told by Bénèdicte will come alive in our memories and our hearts.
